Khalil Dorival is a Mental Wellness Coach, Author, Spiritual Leader, Facilitator and Invisible Hero Awarded by Toronto Police Services & Child Care Services.
He is the Founder of Khalil Dorival Enterprise (KDE). An organization dedicated to addressing the social and economical barriers that youth encounter through Mental Wellness workshops.
His phenomenal drive and determination has pushed him to become an influential leader in his community. Having grown up in an at-risk neighborhood with divorced parents, it wasn’t a surprise when Khalil got in trouble with the law, hung out with wrong friends, had scholastic troubles, and struggled with financial obstacles. In the midst of his shortcomings and mistakes he challenged himself to grow spiritually, mentally, physically – resulting in a successful turn around of his life.
His major goal is to inspire people to love themselves and in return love others. Known for his enthusiastic energy, Khalil is able to translate the trials and tribulations of life into relevant principles and coaching opportunities. His biggest dream is to impact the world globally by giving back to people what God and many mentors have invested in him. On his journey to success and personal well-being, his sole desire is to change lives, sowing seeds of hope and teachings to bring out the best in people
Aliya Allen-Valley, MSPH holds a Joint Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Development Studies from McGill University, and a Master of Science in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She currently works as a Policy Advisor in the child and youth mental health sector in Toronto, and is passionate about health equity and about creating spaces where people can come together to share and learn in community. Through her work and initiatives, Aliya seeks to utilize communication, advocacy, and collaboration as tools through which to improve healthcare outcomes for women in the Caribbean and in the diaspora.
Daimon Nurse is a digital marketer passionate about helping small and medium enterprises reach their full marketing potential and achieve their business goals. This has led to a career spanning almost ten years of experience in strategizing and executing multi-million dollar marketing campaigns for global brands such as
Fairmont Hotels, Gildan and American Apparel. Daimon has a Master’s degree in Small and Medium Enterprise Management from The Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business, University of the West Indies and a Bachelor’s Degree Geomatics also from the University of the West Indies. He also holds numerous certifications in social media management and digital analysis.
FAAB Inc. has been hired by the Youth Village to organize the Intergenerational Conversations Project and are supporting the tech needs for the event, Black Entrepreneurs: Generations United.
They are a small consulting agency that supports non-profit organizations explore new opportunities and add bandwidth to bring strategic initiatives over the finish line through management consulting.
FAAB Inc. specialize in youth engagement, play-based learning and gender equality. While they are not members of the Black community, they are passionate about supporting equity and entrepreneurship in Canada.
In 2017, Jodi-Ann Campbell, Chris-Beth Cowie, Derrick Fagan, Darren Green, Ryan Knight, Ray McMillan, and Keisha Wallace had the idea to create a business network for the Black community that would bridge the economic gap for Black entrepreneurs.
From that idea came the Afro-Caribbean Business Network. ACBN’s objective is to provide Black businesses with the resources they need to start, grow and scale up. Their goal is to ensure that businesses are prosperous—and part of the fabric of Canadian business for years to come.
Their network encourages the pursuit of entrepreneurship and developing connections to help business owners stay engaged during their entrepreneurial journey and leave a lasting legacy.
